Alcoholics Anonymous® is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership, we are self-supporting through our own contributions. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

The Start and Growth of A.A.
The history of A.A. began in the United States, spread to Canada, and then went worldwide. A.A. presence now exists in more than 180 countries.

About us
The purpose of District 16 is to engage in General Service activities within the AA Conference structure guided by the Twelve Traditions, the AA Service Manual and the Twelve Concepts for World Service. There is no authority except that expressed by the group conscience and communicated to the General Service Representative (GSR) who the group has selected.
We meet on the 4th Sunday of each month, and all GSRs in the district should attend. Other members of AA are always welcome to attend our meetings as a visitor. The GSRs, communicate to the Area Conference through the District Committee Member (DCM), and by attending the Area Conference each quarter. District 16 is a service only, never a government for AA.
